A Chechen conference dedicated to the memory of Dzhokhar Dudayev took place on Thursday in the Sejm, even though most of the invited participants – heroes of the fight against Russian oppression – were not allowed to enter. Moscow continues its Cold War, and Poland will become its victim if it defeats Ukraine. This must not be allowed – warned Akhmed Zakayev.
Adam Borowski, a legendary opposition activist, organized the Chechen conference in the Sejm on the 30th anniversary of Dzhokhar Dudayev’s death. It was held under the slogan “Unbreakable Chechnya.”
As reported on Wednesday by Niezalezna.pl, Adam Borowski invited 96 distinguished figures connected to Chechnya – people who had to flee their homeland with their families due to Russian aggression and persecution.
Only 34 invited guests were granted permission to enter the Sejm. According to Adam Borowski, among the 62 people who were denied entry to the parliamentary building are “those who support Chechen units in Ukraine.” Permission was also denied to the well-known human rights defender Said-Amin Ibragimov. He is a Chechen politician and independence activist who was associated with Dzhokhar Dudayev’s camp during the First Chechen War in the 1990s.
The European Parliament and Belgian services acted differently
During the conference, Borowski criticized the Sejm’s decision. The same position was taken by former Foreign Minister and MEP Anna Fotyga from Law and Justice (PiS).
“I deeply regret that important activists, representatives of oppressed societies, distinguished individuals who support the Chechen nation’s struggle for self-determination, operating in our allied countries, were not allowed to attend this conference. A similar event in the European Parliament was able to take place freely. The Belgian services and the authorities of the European Parliament had no doubts about it. Here, the leadership of the Sejm had”, she said.
The Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Akhmed Zakayev, was allowed to participate.
He thanked all Poles who are helping and have helped in his country’s unequal struggle with Russia. He recalled that Poland has taken in 30,000 refugees from Chechnya.
“Dudayev was a man who understood the essence of the Russian state. He learned from within how this system enslaves nations and suppresses the aspirations of other countries for independence. He knew it from the inside. Moscow did not accept Chechnya’s independence. Dudayev warned the world what Russia was preparing for. That perestroika was a smokescreen, that Russia wanted to lull the world to sleep in this way. It sought to continue the Cold War. It temporarily withdrew in order to prepare for revenge. Russia is preparing for further wars”, he said.
Zakayev emphasized that Polish authorities should take care of those who spoke the truth about the cruelty and dramatic consequences of Russian aggression in Chechnya.
“Dudayev warned that Russia would not stop at Chechnya. He spoke about a possible clash between Russia and Ukraine. He understood that the imperial Russian state would not stop at one war. Before the war in Ukraine, Europe and the world came to understand how great a threat Russia is. Poland will become a victim of Russia if it defeats Ukraine. This must not be allowed”, he said.
