They also stated that this vigil is part of the activities they carried out in recent days to request the release of those detained for political reasons. “This activity is the closing of the Route of pending responses, that mobilized family members throughout the week through different public institutions,” they indicated.
Path of pending responses
The so-called “Route of pending answers” is an agenda of peaceful mobilizations and protests in Venezuela organized by the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners (Clippve).
This initiative was promoted by relatives of political prisoners and human rights defenders. The main objective is to demand the full and immediate release of the more than 400 political prisoners who remain in Venezuela.
As part of this agenda, the demands reached the Ombudsman’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office and the Miraflores Palace. To the demands they also added complaints regarding the conditions of confinement of political prisoners.
