A man resident in Greenland is among those still detained in a major case concerning the production and sale of illegal cigarettes from a Jutland cigarette factory.
A man with address in Greenland is among those detained in Denmark in a major case concerning an illegal cigarette factory in Jutland.
This is according to NSK, the National Unit for Special Crime.
The case became known after NSK in June carried out seizures and arrests in collaboration with a number of other authorities, including the Greenland Police. It took place in both Denmark and Greenland.
Two people were then arrested for having set up a professional cigarette factory in Central Jutland and having produced and stored over 32 million illegal cigarettes.
Other people, including a Lithuanian, were arrested for storing and transporting the cigarettes and money laundering.
The status right now is that two men are still in custody in the case, and one of them therefore has an address in Greenland.
It was not possible to obtain information on what role NSK believes the man in Greenland played in the case. We also do not know the nationality of the man.
NSK is a specialized unit that brings together skills from the police and prosecution for complicated cases, including organized crime. NSK conducts both its own cases and helps ordinary police circles in their work, also in Greenland.
