In the column “See you in court” with lawyer Eni Çobani, the family members of the deceased Franc Konomi broke the silence after many years to claim their right to the inherited property.
His wife, Rovena, has publicly accused her brother-in-law, Adi, of embezzling and selling the hotel Franci had been building for years. She also tearfully confessed that the brother of the deceased washed and used the car where Franc Konomi died immediately after his murder.
Through this confrontation, the children of Konomi demand legitimate recognition and the acquisition of their rightful properties.
Eni Çobani: Neither Johnny nor Rowena have had it easy. For the first time, the members of Franc Konomi’s family appear in the Albanian media and they appear precisely for a right, which they have legitimately. HE has left two heirs, John and Franceska, who carry their father’s name and surname with great pride. They want this for their father’s family to recognize them as legitimate children of Franc Konome. This is why Johnny and the budget came today. John is very right and has kept the surname Pojani, the maiden name of his mother, Rowena, with great honor, but in heart and soul he is Konomi.
Rovena: Franceska, my daughter, has also been to Greece. She was at her grandmother’s and I talked to her on camera. Her grandmother I know very well, that she is not part of this thing. My mother-in-law told the girl that you owe everything from your father and you have to go to him from behind.
Ardit Gjebrea: What wealth has Franci left?
Rovena: Franci has left his house, he has a hotel that he has built all these years that we have been in Germany. I tried to invest and contribute as much as I could.
Ardit Gjebrea: Is that hotel Franc’s?
Rowena: Yes. When I went to have a coffee, I remember that we had a pizzeria, a swimming pool, and we had rooms where tourists came. I asked who this hotel belonged to, they told me “it belonged to Franc Konomi, Adi Konomi took it and sold it to another person”. How can you sell a property that is not yours? He never contributed to the house, it was Franc Konomi who kept them, the whole of Tirana knows.
Ardit Gjebrea: Rovena, after the murder, did you go to Germany?
Rowena: I went to Germany. After all these situations happened Franci had left a ‘Benz’ in which he was killed and a ‘BMW’, the police came to me and told me to take them. I would take a ‘Benz’ where my husband lost his life, I want that ‘Benz’ to burn. When I saw my brother after a week, he had washed the car and was driving in the middle of Tirana. Your brother is killed and you get into that car, where did he die?!
Franc Konomi was shot dead with 10 bullets on July 8, 2010, near the “New Market”. He was found murdered in his black Mercedes Benz car. Franc Konomi was the last person left alive from that group of young people who in Tirana were considered “strong” and practiced law in the 90s.
