PARAMARIBO — 22-year-old moped rider GP did not survive a collision with a passenger car at the intersection of Watermolen and Lim A Poststraat. He died on the spot on Sunday.
The preliminary investigation by the Centrum police has established that the moped rider drove across Lim A Poststraat in the direction of Heerenstraat, while car driver BS drove over Watermolenstraat in the direction of Henck Arronstraat. GP failed to give priority at the intersection, resulting in the collision.
The 48-year-old BS stated that he could no longer prevent the collision because he had already come close to the moped. The blow left the victim with serious injuries and he died.
