The story of September 11, 2001 in the United States goes beyond a horrific terrorist act. It represents recovering the memory of around three thousand people who lost their lives there suddenly and wildly.
I might have liked to write an article about the background of the National Day of Catalonia that is celebrated today. Others will take care of it. With the utmost respect, however, I think it is more appropriate to pay tribute in favor of the victims. At the same time, convey my support and warmth to their families.
It must be a coincidence that, in Catalonia, parallel news have just emerged that alter – in some way – the meaning and/or embryonic core of the day. I am basically referring to a “pathetic” start to the school year… Where the political leaders have limited themselves to praying for a break or “parenthesis” to appease the environment, when throughout the summer they have not altered the holidays at all. They have done nothing to end the teacher strike.
My support and warmth to the families of the victims
At the same time, I will still cite two more facts that stage the serious disarray that envelops/holds the political management of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, when we are in the middle of the legislature: horrible results of the PISA educational tests and what I describe as the covert “termination” of Major Josep Lluís Trapero, head of the Mossos d’Esquadra.

Perhaps the best saying to dramatize what I am criticizing – Mr President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, and Minister of Education, Esther Niubó – would be that we can now “go after him with a ringing flabiol”.
