Summer in music Four free concerts for the fiftieth season of the San Marino Music Institute
SAN MARINO – The third appointment of the 2026 summer festival of the San Marino Musical Institute continues, a particularly significant edition that celebrates the milestone of the fiftieth season since the foundation of the Institute. On Wednesday 5 August at 6.30 pm at the Orti Borghesi, in the evocative setting overlooking the Pieve, the Quattrocelli 4et – the cello quartet of the San Marino Music Institute, will perform in a concert entitled “From the soul to the sound”. The training consists of Anselmo Pelliccioni (IMS teacher), Michele Santi, Luca Zangheri And Veronica Conti. The cello quartet exploits the instrument’s wide range to explore different timbres: from the density of the low and medium registers to the brightness of the high registers. The evening’s programme, varied and eclectic, alternates original music written for this ensemble with arrangements of pieces by Bach, Hancock, Lamb and Hisaishi, as well as arrangements and an original piece by Marco Capicchioni. The event will end on Wednesday 19 August, again at the Orti Borghesi starting at 6.30 pm, with the Trio Mi Alma and the “Colonne sonore d’autore” concert. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at the headquarters of the San Marino Musical Institute, in Via Napoleone Bonaparte 4, City of San Marino.
