DDA Chief Executive Officer Marva Williams said WCMF continues to provide a platform connecting Dominican music with regional and international sounds.
“For nearly three decades, the World Creole Music Festival has provided a distinctly Dominican platform where our music meets the sounds of the Caribbean and the world,” Williams said. “The 2026 lineup continues that tradition, but WCMF is also part of something much bigger. We invite visitors to spend some time with us in Dominica this October and immerse themselves in the spirit of our Independence season, with WCMF as one of its major highlights. Come for the music, but stay for the culture, the cuisine, the traditional wear, the village celebrations, our people and the incredible beauty of the Nature Island. There is so much more to experience and this is one of the most exciting and authentic times of year to discover Dominica.”
The DDA said the festival remains an important contributor to tourism during the Independence period. The Association added that more than 42,000 people attended WCMF over three nights in 2025.
During the nine-day period surrounding last year’s festival, Dominica recorded 10,540 visitors, representing 48% more than in 2024 and 61% above 2023.
