Ulaanbaatar,
April 23, 2026 /MONTSAME/. During the State Visit of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa
to Kazakhstan, artists from the Mongolian Grand Theatre of National Arts and
the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet presented the
“Beautiful Country Mongolia” concert for the first time in Astana. The
performance took place on the stage of the Kalybek Kuanyshbayev Kazakh National
Musical and Drama Theatre.
The concert was
opened by Mongolia’s Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth,
Aldarjavkhlan Jukov, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Information, Aida
Balayeva. They highlighted ongoing efforts to expand cultural and humanitarian
cooperation and to promote, preserve, and study shared heritage, history, and
traditions through cultural exchange.
The artists
performed outstanding works from various forms of traditional Mongolian art, including
the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle) and Khoomei (throat singing),
both inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural
Heritage of Humanity. For example, they presented urtiin duu (long songs)
and bogino duu (short songs) as well as traditional dances and works
reflecting Chinggis Khaan, Mongolia’s history, ethnic diversity, and festive
culture. Singer Misheel I. also performed the famous Kazakh song “Song About
Mother.”
During the
event, exhibitions were also presented, including “Beautiful Country Mongolia”
photography and morin khuur exhibition showcasing nomadic life, culture,
and traditions. An art exhibition titled “Great Khaans” featured portraits of Chinggis
Khaan, Zuchi, and Subeedei.
