The 19th session of Monaco’s Youth Economic, Social and Environmental Council (EESC) has concluded, marking the end of several months of work by 35 high school students from across the Principality…
Acting as true advisors, participants engaged in discussions, research and collaboration before presenting their proposals in the Council chamber. This year, four resolutions were adopted, addressing key themes including professional integration, cultural development, student well-being and economic awareness. Among the standout initiatives were plans for a youth economic symposium, projects to improve life within schools, and a cultural event designed to bring together students and professionals through workshops and performances.
Particular attention was also given to inclusion, with one proposal focusing on improving access to employment opportunities for students with disabilities, especially within the hospitality sector. The session, sponsored by Monaco’s Delegate for Disability Issues, Lionel Galfré, reinforced the importance of social cohesion and equal opportunity.
The proposals will now be submitted to the Monegasque authorities, continuing a process that has already seen several past initiatives implemented, from sports infrastructure to environmental projects. Beyond the ideas themselves, the programme offers young participants valuable insight into civic engagement, demonstrating that their voices can contribute meaningfully to the Principality’s development.
