Asa Bantan’s 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete is set to return to Grand Bay in August, celebrating a decade of what has become one of Dominica’s established summer entertainment events.
According to a Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) press release, this year’s anniversary edition will feature four days of activities, entertainment and cultural experiences, with patrons encouraged to wear red, the official colour of the 10th anniversary celebration.
Supported by the Government of Dominica through the Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority, the event forms part of the island’s 2026 summer events calendar. Organisers expect the weekend to attract visitors from Dominica, the wider Caribbean and the diaspora, while generating business for hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, bars, transportation providers and vendors in Grand Bay and surrounding communities.
Over the past 10 years, the Breakfast Fete has grown from a single event into a multi-day festival. This year’s edition features an expanded programme and performances by more than a dozen Dominican, regional and international artistes.
“Festivals and events continue to play an important role in strengthening Dominica’s tourism offering by encouraging travel during the summer season and creating opportunities for businesses and communities,” said Marva Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Discover Dominica Authority and Director of Tourism. “The continued growth of Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete over the past decade reflects the value of investing in local events that attract regional visitors, support entrepreneurs and encourage more visitors to choose Dominica during the summer season.”
Founder Asa Bantan also reflected on the event’s milestone.
“Celebrating 10 years of Breakfast Fete is a proud moment for all of us,” he said. “I am grateful to everyone who has supported the event over the years, and my team and I are looking forward to welcoming returning patrons and first-time visitors to Grandbay for this special anniversary weekend.”
The festivities begin on Friday, August 7, with the Lighting Parade from the Grand Bay Community Centre to Lalay between 7:00 PM and 1:00 AM, featuring performances by TK International, Asa Bantan and DJ Shil. A paid drinks package will also be available.
Celebrations continue into the early hours of Saturday with the Pre-Breakfast Fete Party at Hyland, Grand Bay, from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
The signature event, the 10th Annual Summer Daybreak Breakfast Fete, takes place on Sunday, August 9, from 1:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on the Savannah in Grand Bay.
Dubbed “The People’s Fete,” this year’s lineup includes Jamaican dancehall artiste Valiant, alongside Asa Bantan, Trilla G, Jixel, Gwada G, Kenny G, BRG Hollywood, Reo Ok Boom, Eddy, Little Boy, Lestef KJF, Pudaz, Freddy, Fifin & Wotlis, Faithii, Devon, King Kembé of St. Maarten, Strosey and SMS of Guadeloupe. Patrons will have access to Dry Zone, Wet Zone and VIP experiences.
Activities continue on Sunday night with the Breakfast Fete Cool Off at Hyland from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, featuring bouyon, soca, reggae and dancehall music.
The anniversary weekend concludes on Monday, August 10, with the Island Tour and Wet Fete Finale. The tour departs Roseau and includes stops in Massacre, St. Joseph and Mero before returning to Grand Bay for the closing celebration.
The DDA is encouraging patrons to purchase tickets early and inviting visitors to explore Dominica’s accommodations, restaurants and attractions while attending the anniversary festivities.
