TROPICAL SHIPPING ON Thursday, July 30, 2026 awarded scholarships to five students who successfully gained entrance into secondary schools after completing the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).
In a release, Tropical Shipping said each student received vouchers valued at EC $925.00 to assist with uniforms and books for their entrance into secondary school.
Tropical Shipping Island Manager, Cedric McIntyre, spoke briefly to the students on the new chapter of their lives, stressing that every mistake is a lesson and that every question asked is a step in the right direction. McIntyre also told the students to ” never say you can’t but to dream big about the things you want, remembering, that dreams without goals are just dreams so dream and set goals applying disciple and consistency”.
Sales representative for Tripical Shipping Kerwin Hinson, congratulated all the students on their achievements and success and explained how the Tropical Shipping Educational Assistance Programme works.
And, Senior Education Officer Suzette Ferdinand, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education, congratulated the students, and asked them to continue working hard and make their parents proud. She also asked the parents to continue being there for their children in a supportive role. Ferdinand also has words of gratitude for Tropical Shipping for their continued contribution over the last four years to the development of the nation’s children and the partnership with the Ministry of Education.
Parents are said to have expressed appreciation and gave Tropical Shipping a big “thank you” for the donation, explaining that the funds received will alleviate their financial burden.
The Tropical Shipping Educational Assistance Programme falls under the company’s corporate social responsibility, of which, improving the quality of life of children in St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
The company said it is one of their initiatives and they are proud to give back to the people and communities they serve.
