The Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association (DSAA) has announced the return of its flagship charity fundraiser, White Sunset with a Hint of Creole 2026, inviting nationals at home and abroad, visitors, alumni and friends to celebrate Dominica’s culture while supporting community development initiatives.
The fifth annual all-white charity event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Kai Mama Mwen in Castle Comfort from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. under the theme “White Sunset with a Hint of Creole.”
According to the DSAA, White Sunset has grown into one of the signature events of Dominica’s Independence and World Creole Music Festival season, bringing people together to reconnect with friends, celebrate their heritage and contribute to projects that create lasting benefits for communities across the island.
The association emphasized that the event is more than a social gathering, noting that proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships are used to support organizations and initiatives addressing critical social, educational and community needs in Dominica.
Funds raised from White Sunset 2025 helped finance several community projects, including the Anse Kouanari Tourism Association Inc.’s Community and Youth-Led River Stewardship Project, which engages young people and residents in protecting two rivers in Castle Bruce through environmental training, clean-up campaigns, advocacy and educational signage.
The event also supported the Lifeline Ministries Survivor Support Project, which provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention and an after-hours helpline for survivors of gender-based violence and their children. The initiative offers immediate safety, emotional support and referrals to help survivors recover and rebuild their lives.
In addition, proceeds contributed to six scholarships for students at the Dominica State College, helping to reduce financial barriers to higher education.
The DSAA said the continued support of patrons, sponsors, partners and volunteers has enabled White Sunset to transform “an evening of culture and celebration into meaningful impact for communities throughout Dominica.”
This year’s event will offer three attendance options.
General admission will include live entertainment, cultural performances, raffles, giveaways and access to fundraising food and beverage bars.
VIP patrons will receive an all-inclusive package featuring hors d’oeuvres, dinner, unlimited drinks, a commemorative souvenir and access to a VIP lounge.
Guests seeking a premium experience can reserve VIP tables for groups of four or six, which include all VIP benefits along with reserved seating, personalised table service, access to a private dinner buffet and front-row views of the evening’s entertainment. The association noted that availability for premium tables is limited.
Early bird ticket prices, which went on sale on Friday, July 31, are US$30 (EC$81) for general admission, US$120 (EC$325) for the VIP experience, US$680 (EC$1,836) for a premium table of four and US$1,020 (EC$2,754) for a premium table of six.
The DSAA is encouraging people returning home for the Independence celebrations, former classmates, visitors and supporters of charitable causes to attend the event, inviting guests to “come dressed in white with a hint of Creole” as they celebrate Dominica’s people, culture and collective commitment to making a difference. Tickets are available online through the event’s Eventbrite page, while updates will also be shared on the Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association and White Sunset Facebook and Instagram pages.
