As Antigua Carnival 2026 enters its busiest and most anticipated weekend, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has welcomed thousands of revellers to the country while encouraging everyone to celebrate in a spirit of unity, pride and responsibility.
In a national Carnival message, Browne said the festival offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture and heritage of Antigua and Barbuda, whether for those returning home or visitors discovering the destination for the first time.
He welcomed members of the diaspora, regional guests and international travellers, thanking them for choosing Antigua and Barbuda as the place to celebrate this year’s festivities.
“Whether you’re coming home to celebrate or visiting our shores for the very first time, I extend a heartfelt welcome to Antigua and Barbuda,” the prime minister said.
Browne described Carnival as a reflection of the nation’s identity, saying the annual celebration goes beyond the parades and performances to highlight the country’s traditions, creativity and strong sense of community. He encouraged revellers to take time to enjoy the local music, food and hospitality while reconnecting with family and friends throughout the celebrations.
