A home is more than just concrete and wood—it is where families build their future. That is why every Palauan has the right to expect that homes financed through NDBP are built with quality materials and inspected to the highest safety standards.
Many homeowners have expressed serious concerns that some houses were approved despite alleged construction deficiencies and the use of substandard materials. If these concerns are accurate, they raise an important question: Are NDBP’s inspection and quality control processes truly protecting the families they are meant to serve?
NDBP should immediately conduct an independent review of its inspection procedures and ensure that all inspectors are properly qualified, impartial, and held accountable for their decisions. If deficiencies are identified, corrective action—including changes in personnel where appropriate—should be taken to restore public confidence.
This is not about personal attacks. It is about accountability, transparency, and protecting the people of Palau. Families invest their life savings and take on long-term loans to build their dream homes. They deserve the assurance that those homes are safe, built to proper standards, and inspected with professionalism and integrity.
Public trust is earned through action, not words. NDBP must demonstrate that the safety and well-being of Palauan families will always come before anything else.
