The Andorran Red Cross has activated an emergency device to support the French Red Cross in the face of the serious situation caused by the forest fires that affect the regions of the Gironde and the Landesas announced on social networks. The operative has been deployed since Sunday with a total of six convoys made up of first responders and members of the logistics teamwhich are moving up to Bordeaux to collaborate in the care of the special forces and the evacuated people and strengthen the reception devices skilled on the ground, as explained by the director of the entity, Jordi Ribes. Mobilization responds to one appeal of the French NGO and is expected to continue until thursday because it is during the week when there is a lack of staff and during the weekend volunteers are added, explained Ribes, adding that the support will be given until it is needed because “we will adapt to what is needed”.
The director of the entity has indicated that they were sent yesterday Sunday two logistics technicians to analyze the environment where they are to be installed and assess the needs there. And he has specified that the assistance entrusted to the Andorran Red Cross is essentially for serve the members of the special forces who work there on the fires and if necessary support will also be given to the evicted.
