A citizen denounces what he describes as an unjustified delay by Credins Bank, after an ATM blocked his debit card due to the incorrect setting of the PIN code. The complaint was made by Gerti Shella, who states that although several days have passed and he has made several appearances at the bank’s branches, he still has not been able to recover his card.

“Last weekend, a Credins Bank ATM blocked my debit card after I entered the PIN code incorrectly. So far everything is understandable. I contacted customer care, where they told me to come to the Xhamllik street branch on Monday to withdraw the card.
On Monday I went to the branch, but the answer I got was to come back from Thursday, as the card was still not there.
Surprised by this situation, on Tuesday I went to the central branch in the Block area. There I was confronted by an employee, who first tried to emphasize my mistake in setting the PIN, and then let me understand that each branch decides on its own the card return procedure. In fact, the impression was created as if the Xhamllik branch was not part of the same banking institution.
I told him that if an ATM in Malësi i Madhe had blocked my card, then I would have to travel from Tirana to there every day, until someone decided to return it to me.
The employee sent an e-mail and told me to show up the next day at 3:00 PM. I went at the appointed time, but still did not receive the card. I went back again on Wednesday and again there was no development. Today I contacted them again by phone, but I did not receive any concrete answer.
Technically, Credins Bank has taken my card and is not willing to return it. The irony is that the bank took my card and not a thief. I believe that even a real thief wouldn’t last that long. Meanwhile, this is a card that I pay for and fully fund myself. I’m starting to lose hope that I’ll get it back soon.
