Khost Governor’s Spokesman Mustagher Garbz told Bakhtar News Agency that 10 residential houses, about 20 shops, 80 acres of agricultural land and a culvert were damaged due to recent rains and floods in Khost Center, Zazai Maidan, Sabryo-Yaqubiu, Bak, Ismailkhilo-Mandozio and Nadershah Kot districts.
According to him, the agricultural crops planted on 30 acres of land in Bak district have also been completely destroyed. Also, the great and important bridge of Shamal on the route of Garbzo district collapsed due to the intensity of floods and was closed to the people, which had a negative impact on the movement of local residents.
Mustagher Garbz added that the leadership of Khost Province has advised all relevant agencies to send professional and technical teams to the affected areas as soon as possible, to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage and to take necessary urgent and practical measures so that the affected citizens can be reached on time.
He also asked the people to take into account the recommendations of the relevant agencies and use caution during continuous rains and possible risks of floods.
