The opposition was determined not to allow the People’s Advocate to report, so that they could then move on to discussions, stating that he was elected illegitimately.
The head of the PD group Gazment Bardhi and the secretary Flamur Noka asked the Speaker Niko Peleshi to change the agenda and go directly to the discussions, without listening to Endri Shabani.
“Let’s move on to discussions. He was elected illegally, he is illegitimate”, they said
But Peleš opposed them: We are not here to fight, we are here to clash thoughts and not heads. Discussions are about the report, we cannot discuss in the air. We do not decide who is recognized and who is not recognized, the Ombudsman was voted by this Assembly, otherwise we are in violation of the Constitution. We are not here for self-judgment and to declare who is legitimate and who is not. Let’s listen to it once and then debate. There is no chance to impose the agenda on the Assembly, to change it by force and shouting, as long as I am here! Sit down.
But this increased the debates and accusations even more, so much so that Bardhi addressed Peleshi for violating the procedures and not listening to the opposition.
The opposition stood its ground, not leaving the floor of the Assembly for a moment.
Pelesi reacted by asking the opposition to sit down, as the ongoing tensions brought the session to the second interruption in a few minutes.
“Mr. Bardhi, don’t raise your voice with me, please, I’m not an educator. 5 minutes break for relaxation and ventilation”, said Peleshi, closing the session temporarily.
Tensions in the Assembly also arose due to the report of the People’s Advocate, Endri Shabani.
