Activist Andi Tepelena has called on citizens to join tomorrow’s protest in front of the Parliament, warning of a symbolic action with eggs and flour against the deputies.
“I want to repeat the call for tomorrow. Tomorrow with eggs, flour with us and let’s knead the dough of democracy together. We will go out there to show that parliament of crime that they are not our representatives, they do not represent us”he said.
According to Tepelena, the protest aims to create a “New Republic”, where the citizen is at the center and the vote is equal. He called on the protesters to participate in the rally in front of the Parliament and not to be afraid of the police.
“They will do their best with patronage and all kinds of thugs they have. We are not afraid, because we are together, for a just cause and a free Albania”he said.
Andi Tepelena: I want to repeat the call for tomorrow. Tomorrow with eggs, flour with us and let’s cook the dough of democracy together. We will go out there to show that parliament of crime that they are not our representatives, they do not represent us.
We are here to set up a new system, a New Republic. A New Republic that equalizes the vote. We want fair elections and equal votes, so that every Albanian can vote freely. After 36 years, two party leaders have assembled this system for us, they have turned it into a republic of leaders, while we want a republic of citizens, where the citizen is at the center, let’s give it a referendum.
This is a fight for democracy, for our rights. Therefore, in those five famous points, we emphasized an electoral reform, where the vote is guaranteed, the free vote. Because it will set us all free.
I call on this parliament to show the place. It is the moment to rise to the right height, to make a democratic siege of the parliament. Don’t be blackmailed by the police, don’t be afraid. They will do their best with patronage and all kinds of thugs they have. We are not afraid, because we are together, for a just cause and a free Albania.
