Tirana – The former deputy of the Democratic Party, Edmond Spaho, has reacted with a direct message to Prime Minister Edi Rama, asking him not to resign from his post if he faces political pressure and protests.
In a public post, Spaho argues that a possible resignation of Rama, in the current political conditions, would bring negative consequences for the country and institutional stability.
He is critical of the ongoing protests, which he describes as divisive and influenced by different political and ideological agendas, considering them harmful to Albania’s European integration process.
Spaho also emphasizes that responsibility for the political situation should not be avoided, but according to him, the change of power at this moment would not be a solution, but would create further uncertainty.
His statement comes at a time of political tensions and ongoing protests in Tirana, where the opposition and various citizens demand changes in governance.
Spaho’s post
Edi Rama,
This is not a protest to lick and bite honest girls and boys on the boulevard.
You have done endless harm to this people. In a country with a democratic society, you would have escaped in time.
The biggest damage you will do to this country is not your past, but if you would run away from the pressure of this neo-Marxist, Islamist-fundamentalist, anti-Trumpist, divisive protest among Albanians in the region and against the integration of Albania in the EU.
Remember that the damage you will do to the country, leaving it in the hands of those who want to choose the government by lot and the political hyenas who are waiting to catch what they can catch, will be such that you will not escape the responsibility even when you may not be in this world.
Since you’re talking about honesty on the boulevard, remember the dreams-nightmares of Kadare’s character in The Winter of Great Solitude.
If you die, don’t be surprised that one day your bones will be dragged down the boulevard as in the dreams of that “reactionary”.
At the top of the boulevard, some heir of Mark Zavaline will play the violin.
It seems like a sick fantasy, but those who are interested in this country moving forward and not behind, will not forgive it if it comes from this protest, the aim of which is to turn the country back a century.
