On June 30, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan received the delegation led by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Sulkhan Tamazashvili, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit. A welcoming ceremony was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the anthems of both countries were played.
The Ministers of Internal Affairs of Armenia and Georgia laid flowers at the memorial wall perpetuating the memory of the policemen who died for the sake of the motherland and while performing their official duties.
At the official meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan congratulated Sulkhan Tamazashvili on his appointment to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, wishing him effective work.
Arpine Sargsyan emphasized that friendly relations between Armenia and Georgia are based on mutual trust and long-term effective cooperation.
The Minister of Internal Affairs highly appreciated the close cooperation established between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, noted that this is his first visit to Armenia as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, and emphasized that he highly values the friendly and partnership relations formed between Armenia and Georgia. He expressed confidence that the cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries will continue to strengthen and develop.
The Ministers of Internal Affairs of Armenia and Georgia also emphasized the importance of maintaining stable peace in the South Caucasus.
Sulkhan Tamazashvili, as a sign of friendship, invited the delegation of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs headed by Arpine Sargsyan to Georgia, emphasizing the importance of bilateral contacts. Minister Sargsyan accepted the invitation, noting that mutual visits will give a new impetus to the expansion of cooperation.
A wide range of bilateral cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest, were discussed at the meeting.
