It is indicated that the traffic jam starts from the checkpoint in front of the bridge and ends at the village of Ivanivka in Kerch district. The queue stretches for more than ten kilometers: there are about 1,500 cars in it.
Traffic across the bridge is constantly halted due to missile warnings, air defense operations or the threat of Ukrainian naval drone attacks. As the fuel crisis in the occupied peninsula worsens and electricity supply is cut off in some cities, Crimean residents are increasingly announcing their intentions to leave the peninsula on social media.
On Thursday, the Russian propaganda news agency “Interfax” announced that the congestion had not only eased. According to the report, 1,053 cars are waiting at checkpoints on both sides of the Crimean bridge.
The Information Center, which monitors the situation on the roads leading to the bridge, said that in the morning, 250 vehicles were queuing for inspection from the Tamana side. Meanwhile, 730 vehicles were standing in the traffic jam from the Kerch side.
It should be noted that the occupation authorities have also intensified checks at checkpoints, which constantly paralyze both civilian and military logistics between the peninsula and Russia.
Last weekend, there were several explosions in the occupied Crimea. Occupying authorities blocked traffic on the Crimean bridge, and local residents saw fire and thick smoke near the seaport of Kerch.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later confirmed that the Ukrainian military had struck targets on both sides of the Crimean bridge. The targets are approximately 300 km from the front line.
Satellite images were later released on social media showing the impact of successful strikes on Russian logistics and oil facilities in Crimea.
Among other things, Russia is redeploying anti-aircraft defense systems to Moscow and closer to the Crimean bridge, due to which defenses in other areas have been significantly weakened.
