Prime Minister Tariq Rahman paid a surprise visit to Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARSO).
On Sunday (June 28) at 9:15 a.m., he reached the SPARSO office located in the Sherbangla Nagar area of Agargaon in the capital.
He made a surprise visit to the institution outside the pre-scheduled program. The Prime Minister visited the office of SPARSO, an organization under the Ministry of Defence. He visited various departments of the organization and interacted with the officers and employees.

Later, officials from various departments presented detailed briefings on their innovations, research activities and ongoing work on satellite and remote sensing technologies.
At this time, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman emphasized on developing SPARSO as a modern, contemporary and self-reliant space research institute. He gave necessary instructions to the concerned to ensure effective use of space technology in national security, disaster management, agriculture, environment and development planning.
During the visit, Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Brigadier General (retd.) Dr. AKM Shamchul Islam, Defense Secretary. Ashraf Uddin, Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon, Private Secretary-2 Md. Mehedul Islam, Deputy Press Secretary-1 Zahidul Islam Roni and senior officials of Defense Ministry and SPARSO were present.
Note that Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARSO) is the country’s national institution engaged in the research, development and application of space science, satellite technology and remote sensing technology.
