The National Library of Tajikistan announced a republican competition “Best Book Reader”, aimed at popularizing reading and increasing interest in books among the population.
According to NIAT “Khovar”the competition was organized with the aim of creating a reading culture, promoting book heritage, as well as preserving and popularizing national and cultural values.
Participants will compete in two age categories: under 18 years old and over 18 years old.
Active readers of the National Library of Tajikistan, school students, students of higher educational institutions, scientific and literary staff and everyone are invited to participate.
At the same time, the winners of the republican competitions “Wisdom of the Dawn Shining – Book” and “Best Experts in the Works of the Leader of the Nation” of the last three years will not be allowed to participate.
The contestants will be evaluated by a special commission that will take into account reading activity, regularity of visiting the library and the number of books read. In each age group, first, second and third place winners will be determined.
