He indicated that the party will review the family ties of those who seek to participate in the internal candidate selection processes and will pay special attention to those municipalities where municipal presidents, legislators or political groups They intend to promote direct family members.

“There will be no possibility of maintaining political control of the city councils or the regions through this type of candidacy,” stated the state leader.

He maintained that these are practices typical of caciquil schemes that Morena seeks to eradicate. He even stated that, although make alliances with other political parties, the political institute will not support this type of nominations.

Rico Mercado pointed out that, although anyone has the right to aspire to a popularly elected position, it is up to the party to define the nominations. He added that the National Elections Commission will be in charge of reviewing and determining who meets the criteria established.
