The Al Anis channel crew decided to stop broadcasting permanently after 12 years of activity, for reasons explained by the management of the corporation, whose main headquarters is in Bir Khadem in Algiers, in a statement issued today.
The statement said: “We address you today with feelings mixed with loyalty and appreciation, to complete with you a cherished chapter in the journey of Al-Anis Channel, which – thanks to God and then thanks to your trust – has been a beacon for reformist media since our launch in June 2014.”
The editors of the statement returned to the circumstances of the founding of the institution: “This channel was founded by an elite group of scholars, thinkers, and media professionals, carrying on their shoulders the mission of building societal awareness based on values and morals, with all professionalism and creativity; to be your educational, cultural, and social platform that touches the reality of Algerian and Arab society, and preserves its identity and authenticity.”
They justified the decision to stop: “As part of our constant keenness to review our path, we recently conducted an in-depth study of the needs of our honorable audience, which demonstrated your aspiration for more focused treatments on family issues and the challenges of raising children.
Based on these results and in parallel with the increasing financial and technical challenges facing satellite broadcasting, which have begun to impose fundamental restrictions on its sustainability in accordance with the quality standards you have come to know from us; The channel’s management has taken a decision to stop satellite broadcasting and close the channel permanently.”
This decision, even if it is difficult, adds: “It stems from our honesty towards you, and our keenness to end this experiment in a time worthy of what we have presented. As we stop broadcasting on satellite today, we carry with us the summary of this experiment, asking God that its outcomes will remain present in our reality and society in various ways and means available in the future.”
The statement concluded: “We leave your screens today with hearts full of thanks and gratitude to everyone who supported us and participated in this intellectual and educational journey. We ask you for forgiveness for any shortcomings, and we hope that you will remain advocates of goodness as you have always been, and that you will single us out in your prayers for success and prosperity in the coming days.”
