He added that Abduvahid Nematov was chosen as the main goalkeeper because he showed himself well in the friendly matches held before the World Cup.
“Since I came here, Abduvahid Nematov has shown himself well in the national team and in friendly matches. So I tried to give him a chance. The reason is that the World Cup is such a competition that everyone should share experience. “If I have a good goalkeeper like Abduvahid, why should I not use it like that?” says Cannavaro.
22 players participated in the match against Colombia and Portugal. Only 4 players have not yet participated in this world championship, i.e. did not make their debut. These are the third goalkeeper Botirali Ergashev, Avazbek Olmasaliyev, Umar Eshmurodov and Jamshid Iskanderov.
When asked about fielding 22 players, Cannavaro said that it is good and all the players have played in the national team, against Colombia and Portugal.
