“This large-scale format requires not only speed but also depth in decision-making. The intense dialogue between our countries’ leaders demands that we maintain the highest possible pace,” Roman Brodov said.
According to the MP, the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is unique, as the program approved by the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council marks a new stage in joint cooperation.
Roman Brodov noted that starting this year, the forum is changing its format and transitioning to a biennial cycle. This places a greater responsibility on the participants, as the decisions made during the discussions must focus on medium-term rather than short-term planning for the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
The chairman of the Standing Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance of the Council of the Republic emphasized that the economic results of the bilateral partnership are clear. However, even with such close ties, certain issues can still hold back the pace of development. The goal of this panel session is to analyze the factors slowing down growth and to identify opportunities to accelerate the economic component of Union State integration.
