Moments of tension were noted today on the 29th day of the citizen protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, after police officers intervened to remove some of the items placed by the protesters on the stairs of Edi Rama’s office.
As can be seen from the footage, the police took the benches placed by the citizens, while they also removed the shoes placed symbolically on the steps of the Prime Minister’s Office, as part of the protest messages, in memory of their immigrant relatives.
“Don’t touch the shoes, this is theft of the will of the people. Don’t disturb the works of art put up by the people”. was heard to say one of the citizens, who also clashed with the policemen who tried to take away his cell phone while he was filming.
He requested that the police not interfere with the girl protesters, who were in front of the prime minister’s office, as they stayed overnight, who were opposing the removal of their shoes.
“Don’t touch the girl, where are the female policemen? Don’t touch her. Where is the record of the shoes? Don’t touch the chick, it’s in a public environment. It’s public territory, don’t touch her. The municipality of Tirana, which leaves us without lights, is removing the works left by the citizens. They’re not letting us on public territory. Theft. This is police violence, this is provocation. Don’t touch the chick.” he says.
