His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, made a phone call with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His Excellency also received a phone call from His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the two calls, they reviewed cooperation relations and ways to support and enhance them, and discussed the latest regional developments, especially the diplomatic efforts made to enhance security and stability in the region, after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the two calls, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity of sparing the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, continuing the path of dialogue and diplomacy, reducing escalation, and building on the gains achieved within the framework of the memorandum of understanding, to establish security and stability at both levels. His Excellency also affirmed the State of Qatar’s full support for the ongoing negotiations between the American and Iranian sides, to reach sustainable solutions to the outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, which contributes to opening new horizons for cooperation, development and prosperity, and achieves the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world.
