Trump’s first reaction to the US Senate’s vote against war with Iran

In response to the controversial vote of the US Senate to limit his war powers against Iran, Donald Trump angrily claimed that Tehran had reached the brink of collapse and complete surrender, but the senators prevented this by “helping the enemy”.

US President Donald Trump reacted to the anti-war resolution of the US Senate on Wednesday morning with a controversial message on the “Truth Social” social network, which was full of vulgar and insulting words.

He called the vote of the Senate on Tuesday evening “untimely and senseless” and claimed that this action, at the very moment when it had pushed Iran to the brink of complete collapse, had given Tehran morale.

On Tuesday evening, the US Senate passed a non-binding resolution by a vote of 50 to 48 that calls on Trump to end the deployment of military forces to war with Iran. This vote is considered the tenth attempt of the Senate since the beginning of the “Ramadan War” last March to limit the war powers of the President. The notable thing was the presence of 4 Republican senators with the Democrats: Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Bill Cassidy.

Trump, who was very upset by this association, wrote in his message: “Well, I had Iran on the edge of the cliff, ready to fall. He was willing to give us almost anything, and for the first time in decades, he had some respect for the United States and its president, myself.”

He described this resolution as a “political self-mutilation” in the eyes of Iran and added: “This vote practically tells the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world that the United States does not like the pressure I am applying and I must stop.” By doing this, they gave help and peace of mind to the enemy.”

The American president then claimed that the Iranian officials directly asked the American forces the meaning of this vote: “Iran asked our forces: What do these movements mean?”

Continuing his usual verbal attacks, Trump called four of his fellow senators “loser Republicans” and used the derogatory term “dumocrats” for the entire Senate Democratic faction.

“These senators have made my job more difficult, but I will finish,” he concluded in a menacing but confident tone. I will finish it somehow. Because I always get the job done!”

It should be noted that these resolutions are non-binding and do not have the weight of the approved law. The House of Representatives also approved a similar plan some time ago. Trump had previously emphasized that if these bills reach his desk, he will veto them.
