The representatives of Venezuelan VolunteersHector Guedez and Giomaralic I forgivereported that the support response in Guatemala has been massive to help affected people in Venezuela. Additionally, they explained that at least five Collection centers work in coordination with the private sector and the authorities.
These Venezuelan volunteers pointed out that this Saturday June 27 began a second phase of support through bank deposits to expedite the sending of humanitarian aid to those affected. They added that, for the moment, the urgent needs are medical supplies and items for emergency care of victims.
In addition, the representatives mentioned that among the priority materials are sutures with or without needlecervical collars of different sizes, disposable gloves and work, gauze, bandages, tape and antisepticswhich can be purchased quickly from authorized distributors of the Guatemala City.
Faced with this scenario, they indicated that they no longer receive food, clothing or medicationsbecause the latter require special permits for their transfer to the country. Likewise, they recommended that all donations arrive classified to facilitate the packaging and make the most of the space available in shipments to Venezuela.

Venezuelans in Guatemala promote humanitarian bridge
The Association of Venezuelans in Guatemala (Asovegua), organization that coordinates humanitarian support actions for the Venezuelan community in the country, is in charge of the campaign to collect medical supplies and items for the care of emergencies intended for people affected by the earthquakes registered in the nation.
According to what was stated by Asovegua, the initiative has the support of the United States, which will facilitate the transfer air of donations from Guatemala to the City of Miamiin the state of Floridaand, later, to Venezuela, as part of a humanitarian bridge among the three countries with important Venezuelan communities.
Given the circumstances, after the end of the first phase of the campaign, which remained open since 25 from June to this 27 June, Asovegua called on people, companies, non-profit organizations and institutions that wish to join with donations of medical supplies and items for emergency care.
Therefore, items needed include analgesics, antipyretics, paracetamol, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, dressing materials, sterile gauzebandages, Micropore tape, dressings, cottonsutures, antibiotic creams for wounds, ointments for burns, antidiarrheals, disposable glovesface masks and thermometers.

Earthquake in Venezuela
Héctor Guédez, who has lived in Guatemala for eight years, said that his family remains in Venezuela and that, after the earthquake, he managed to communicate with his parents two hours later due to the interruption of communications. He assured that the distance generates impotenceso he decided to support Asovegua in the collection.
