A 15-year-old Cunupia boy is the country’s latest road fatality after he lost control of his father’s motorbike he was riding and hit a car on Saturday morning.
Police said Idris Hosein, a form three student of Queen’s Royal College (QRC) was riding his father’s Yamaha FZ1 motorbike on the westbound lane of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, El Socorro, at around 11 am when the back left door of a Nissan Tiida collided with him as the car tried to switch lanes.
Hosein was thrown from the vehicle and rolled some distance away near Lifestyle Motors.
A district medical officer was called in, who declared Hosein dead at the scene.
Sources confirmed that Hosein’s father was called to the scene who identified his son’s body.
