Agents from the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry reported yesterday that they intensified interdiction operations to dismantle points of sale of narcotic substances, in neighborhoods of the Santo Domingo Oeste municipality.
As part of this reinforcement, agents and prosecutors carried out eight raids and multiple operations, where they arrested nine people and seized 6,842 grams of alleged cocaine, 665 of marijuana, six electronic cigarettes, containing a liquid of the same plant, 66 doses of a rock material presumably crack and 12 ecstasy pills, for a total of 7,573 grams.
They also seized three communication radios, seven scales, four cell phones, two motorcycles, a car, three shredders, five scissors, cases and other evidence used by micro-trafficking networks for the packaging and sale of controlled substances.
The interdiction operations were concentrated in Pedro Brand, La Guáyiga, Savica, Los Barrancones, El Tamarindo, Pueblo Nuevo, Los Americanos, La Piña and Los Humildes, extending to Manoguayabo, Buenos Aires, El Café, Hato Nuevo, Libertad, Haina, Las Caobas, El Enriquillo, San Miguel, Engombe, among other sectors.
A press release indicates that the strengthening of these actions to dismantle drug sales points responds to the firm commitment of the Joint Task Force (FTC) to continue improving the operational and response capacity against criminal networks dedicated to the crime of trafficking narcotic substances.
