The target of his verbal attack was the editor of Slovak Television and Radio (STVR), Diana Trnkusová. The Prime Minister publicly defamed her, not resorting to insults directly in front of V4 partners when answering her question, but only a day later during a discussion with students in Bardejov.
The day after the confrontation with the journalist, she used an expressive vocabulary and called her a “stupid”. “One hundred liters of cold water, that’s how I would spray that editor from Slovak Television with a hose, like in a madhouse,” responded the prime minister the day after the summit in Gödöllő, Hungary, during a discussion with students in eastern Slovakia.
“And there are so many of them in the media,” added the prime minister, referring to journalists. “And now I don’t know if it’s her stupidity or if she did it on purpose. We’ll find out if someone gave her the question to ask on purpose,” added Fico.
During the press conference, the editor asked how Slovakia and Hungary wanted to resolve the issue of the controversial Beneš decrees.
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced on Thursday that he and Robert Fico agreed to establish a working group to resolve this controversial issue. Bilateral meetings should also take place, the MTI agency and the telex.hu server reported.

Magyar stated this at a press conference when asked to what extent Beneš’s decrees will affect cooperation within the Vyšehrad Four. According to him, however, this was not the topic of the summit in the Hungarian Gödöllő.
Magyar claims that he and Fico agreed that it is important for Slovak-Hungarian relations to improve. He did not specify the date of the expected resolution of the dispute. According to him, the quality of the solution is more important than speed.
On Tuesday in Gödöllő, Fico declared that the countries of the Visegrad Four are wise enough to put only topics that unite them on the table. At the same time, he promised for the upcoming Slovak presidency that he would not raise topics that divide the V4.
