On June 22-28, the temperature is expected to rise to +44 degrees in some areas. Although rainfall is observed in some places, the main threat to agriculture remains drought due to high temperatures, low humidity and strong winds.
Climatologist Erkin Abdulahatov introduces the expected weather during the week.
According to forecasts of Uzgidromet, it is expected to be hot for several days in the republic on June 22-28. Short-term showers may occur in some areas, but they will not significantly reduce the moisture deficit.
According to experts, the main agrometeorological feature of the week will be an increase in air dryness. Due to high temperature, decrease in relative humidity and strong winds in some places, evaporation may accelerate and water stress in plants may increase.
The highest risk is likely to be observed in the northern regions at the beginning of the week, in the south in the middle of the week, and in most of the republic by the end of the week. Such an environment:
– increasing the risk of shedding of bolls and flowers in cotton,
– it can have a negative effect on fruit bearing and development in vegetable and citrus crops.
In the livestock sector, there is also a possibility of increased heat stress, increased water demand of animals and decreased productivity. Experts recommend watering in the evening and at night as much as possible.
