Parthapratim Ghosh, Taratala, Kolkata: The roof of an under-construction godown collapsed near Bracebridge in Taratala. Rescue work is going on there for about 5 hours. Daylight is gradually decreasing. So special lighting is being arranged for rescue work. Army, police and disaster response teams are deployed in the rescue operation. Rescue work is in full swing. The fire brigade is also working at the scene. Ambulances are deployed at the spot to take away the rescued injured.
Ample lighting has been provided to facilitate the rescue operation even at night. In search of life, rescue operations are underway with sniffer dogs of NDRF to find out who is buried under the rubble. Different places are marked. Trying to send messages to the people trapped inside, using mics where possible. Trying to find out what they need, whether anyone is stuck, is going on. Iron is being cut and removed with a gas cutter.

Army has been deployed for rescue work in Taratala. 4 column soldiers of Eastern Command are involved in the rescue operation. After receiving information from the administration, the army quickly started rescue operations. The rescue team includes army officers, engineers and medical officers. The Army, NDRF, SDRF and Kolkata Police are leaving no stone unturned in rescue operations, a statement from the Indian Army’s Eastern Command said.

“There was a mistake in the plan, that’s what the municipal engineers said,” the chief minister told Nabanna from the scene. “All building plans passed by Trinamool Jamaana are suspended. All pending building plans are suspended pending audit. The work of all the under-construction buildings in Kolkata has been stopped till July 31,’ the Chief Minister said back from the scene Good luck.
