The voice and revolt of the great actor Bujar Asqeriu has been expressed both in reality and in the roles in the various films that he has performed.
In a 1983 film, Askeriu played a character who expressed dissatisfaction with a reality where people faced difficulties and shortages, raising his voice against the government and the state of society.
“When the people’s faces turn yellow from the lack of bread, and when the government does not meet the needs of the nation, we must force them. A terrible policy of immigration and denationalization has begun. We must protest and raise our voices”. said Bujar Asqeriu in the film in 1983.
Years later, specifically in 2019, the actor, now not in role, but in reality, has shown the same critical tone towards the problems that concern society.
“This is the big drama of this country. This country is run by thieves. That’s why there is no money for artists and theater, that’s why they put us in the rat’s hole, there at the hydropower plant. Thieves even take money from a file worth 100 lek. This is our administration.” he declared.
While in recent days the actor has come out in support of the protests for the departure of Prime Minister Rama, greeting the participants and describing their attitude as an expression of courage and a request for change.
“In absolute support of your peaceful, painful, courageous, brave protest. Migjeni would say: ‘Youth, youth, sing the most beautiful song you know!’ And you are knitting and singing the song of freedom. You are singing the song of endurance. You are singing the song of courage. You are the future of this country. You will make Albania the most beautiful, strongest and most powerful in the Balkans and in Europe. For this, I congratulate you and honor you immensely”the great actor declared a few days ago.
