Wednesday and Saturday from 08:30 to 12:00, the city pool will be reserved for women and girls only, it says “I want to say”.
During these terms, men will not be allowed to bathe.
Regarding this controversial decision on gender segregation, which is characteristic of some conservative Muslim countries, Nazmi Dauti, head of the Public Activities Department of the Municipality of Tetovo, says that it was made at the request of the citizens.
“These terms are intended for the swimming pool to be used only by women and girls because they did not want there to be any interference with men at the pool. It was done according to the request of the citizens, that is, the citizens of Tetovo,” said Doughty.
There is no reaction to the decision from the Tetovo Council, where the ruling majority is the Vredi and VMRO-DPMNE coalition.
The city pool, which is of the covered type, began construction in 2020 with funds received from the then Ministry of Sports and Youth as part of a project to build 14 pools in as many cities in the country and this was the first pool to be built under this project.
