Usmon Mirzoev and Bakhtiyor Toshev were awarded certificates of gratitude and valuable gifts for saving a 12-year-old child who was carried away by a stormy stream of water.
By according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Dushanbe, the incident occurred on June 20 on Karotegin street in the Shokhmansur district after heavy rain.
It is noted that the child fell into a mudflow into a drainage canal and found himself in a life-threatening situation.
“Mirzoev and Toshev immediately came to his aid. Thanks to their quick and decisive actions, the minor was pulled out of the water,” police said.
The awards were presented to the men by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Dushanbe.
The capital’s law enforcement agency noted that their action became an example of courage, humanism and civic responsibility.
Previously, a 10th grade student at school No. 40 in the Firdavsi district, Rakhmatullo Mardiktoev was awarded a letter of gratitude and a cash prize from the leadership of the capital’s police for saving a young girl.
Then the Dushanbe Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the incident occurred on the night of April 19 on Sohili Street, under the bridge next to the former Sultoni Kabir market. The girl threw herself into the river, but Rakhmatullo noticed her, jumped into the water and pulled her ashore.
Later in a conversation with Asia-Plus the schoolboy toldthat after the rescue he stopped the car and took the girl to the Istiklol hospital, without waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
