“Armenpress”This is reported by the Bulgarian National News Agency (BTA).
Vasilev noted that the council will not replace humans, but will serve as a platform for forward-looking discussions on the future of robotics, public administration and its potential application in everyday life, as well as ways to accelerate Bulgaria’s development.
He invited a robot named Robert, who participated in the discussion, as the first member of the council and said that the ministry will also invite Sophia, the humanoid robot that opened the conference, as well as robot developers from different countries around the world to present their experience.
In his speech at the forum, Vasiliev also noted that the government’s goal is to make Bulgaria the best place to start and grow high-value businesses based on innovation and technology, and to attract companies, talent and investment by 2030.
“The future belongs to those countries that are not afraid of technology, but accept it as a tool of transformation and integrate it into the life of people, business and state administration,” said Vasiliev.
In a later discussion, he stressed that the Bulgarian government aims to make the country the best place in Europe to start and develop high-value businesses, positioning it as a potential center for innovation and artificial intelligence. He mentioned three main requirements to achieve this goal: attracting and retaining talent, ensuring access to capital and creating a business-friendly environment.
Vassilev highlighted Bulgaria’s strong pool of IT professionals and engineers, the need to attract more foreign professionals, and the country’s growing startup funding ecosystem. He also pointed to the upcoming European Innovation Act, which will provide 234 billion euros for investments in European companies, adding that the government is working to improve the business environment.
The Webit 2026 Forum at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia brought together ministers, investors, CEOs of global companies, entrepreneurs, scientists and technology leaders.
