KUCHING (June 24): Motorists heading towards Damai from June 26 to 28 are advised to plan their journey ahead, as police will close part of Jalan Sultan Tengah near the Damai Golf and Country Club junction during the Rainforest World Music Festival 2026.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the road closure will be enforced from 8am to midnight throughout the three days of the festival at Sarawak Cultural Village.
He said the closure is necessary to control traffic flow around the event area due to road conditions and limited parking space.
Visitors attending the festival are required to park their vehicles near the junction leading to Damai Golf and Country Club before proceeding to the venue via shuttle services provided.
“The Royal Malaysia Police is seeking the cooperation of members of the public attending the event not to park their vehicles in a manner that obstructs traffic.
“They are also advised to plan their journey to help reduce traffic congestion,” he said in a statement.
For further enquiries, members of the public may contact the Kuching district Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at 082-259900.
