The company Assist Digital (L52317008R), founded 10 years ago, ranks among the main companies operating in the field of call centers, consulting and technology, with about 1.8 thousand employees. The company seems to be operating in Tirana not only because of the low cost of labor, but also to benefit from a corrupt and easily corruptible state.
The Parliament of Albania has approved a law on the register of beneficial owners since 2020. Considering the laws of the Albanian state as formalities and red tape, the call center company has decided to challenge this law, not declaring the beneficial owner. The law obliges KKB to compel the company to declare the beneficial owner, but the case of the Bankers criminal organization investigation showed how easily KKB is bought to break the law.
Instead of the beneficial owner, the company Assist shpk has declared the Italian citizen Enrico Donati, 66 years old, who is the highest representative of the company. This misleading statement was accepted by the CKB, which is revealed in many SPAK files.
The company Assist shpk with administrators Evis Karandrea, Riccardo Recco and Gianluca Fulciniti is owned by the Italian company Assist Digital Spa, founded in 2002, with headquarters in Milan, Via Inganni Angelo, 93.
But why does the Assist company not declare the beneficial owner as the law provides? Why does he challenge the Albanian law? What does Enrico Donati really stand for? Does the exposure of the beneficial owner open other curtains?
In addition to hiding the ultimate owner, the Assist shpk call center company partially exercises its activity in prohibited and dangerous places for the employees’ lives. For safety at work, Albania has laws, the State Labor Inspectorate, strategies and rules, but all on paper, i.e. a red herring.
Apparently, Enrico Donati has adapted quickly, “greasing the wheels” of public institutions that had to surround the places of activity with tape.
Besides exposure to physical danger at work and hearing problems, the rights of Italian company employees in Albania are systematically violated, becoming the norm, with scandalous contracts. There are some indications that raise suspicions that the company is involved in other illegal activities, diversion of profits and tax avoidance.
