
The Secondary Civil Protection Unit in Hassi Messaoud intervened this Sunday morning after recording the appearance of a predatory animal (a lioness) at the entrance to one of the buildings, which required a security guard operation and besiegement of the site.
A Civil Protection statement explained that the intervention took place in coordination with the various concerned departments, as no human losses or injuries were recorded among citizens.
The intervening teams were able to control the lioness and place her inside a designated cage to ensure the safety of residents and the operation to proceed without incident.
The head of the department, the national security services, and a veterinarian from the municipality of Hassi Messaoud, in addition to the forestry services, participated in this operation.
