The general manager of the Dominican baseball team for the “XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026”, Luis Poland Jr., announced the call to practice for this Sunday, June 21 at the IPL Academy facilities, located in El Toro de San Antonio de Guerra in Santo Domingo Este.
The call for practice will begin at 10:00 am next Sunday at the home of the national teams IPLA Academy, where a large group of professionals are expected to be willing to represent the national colors and, at home, win the gold medal of the 2026 Central American Games.
The 25th version of the games will begin on June 24 and end on August 8, but the baseball competitions are scheduled from July 31 to August 7. The official calendar will be announced in the coming days.
Those called are receivers, Pedro Severino, Randy Florentino, Edward Uceta, Deivi Grullón and Bryan Hernández.
Anthony García, Kelvin “Lolo” Sánchez, Bladimir Restituyo, Cristopher Familia, Jesús Martínez, Sabriel Polanco, Diego Hernández, Aneury Tavarez, Inmanol Varga, Starlin Javier and Bryan González, are the outfielders who will be present, the infielders will also be there, Michael De León, Alfredo Reyes, Yamaico Navarro, Isaac De León, Irving Ortega, Bryan Hernández, José King, Geury Estévez, Omar Meregildo, Edwin Espinal, Luis Chevalier, Rafael Morel and Junior Sanquintín.
In addition to the pitchers who said yes to this first call, Enny Romero (LHP), Sammy Tavarez (RHP), Carlos Belén, (RHP), Carlos Calderon (RHP), Dionys Rodríguez ((RHP), Armando Vásquez (LHP), William Ramírez (RHP), Bryaner Sánchez (RHP), Diogenes Almengó (RHP), Edwin Adón (RHP), Efralin De León (LHP), Engel García (RHP), Feliz Ramírez (RHP) and José Acosta (RHP).

For Santo Domingo 2026 in baseball, the teams from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Curacao, Panama, Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua and the owners of the house, the Dominican Republic, will be participating.
In the history of the Central American and Caribbean Games, Dominican baseball has been on the podium 11 times, with three gold, four silver and four bronze medals, thus remaining in second place in the medal table, only surpassed by Cuba with 19 medals in total.
