The Viking festival in Hafnarfjörður started today, this is the 29th time the festival has been held and it lasts for 6 days.
There are usually around 250 Vikings, and visitors and pedestrians can stop by and try their hand at Viking games, archery, ax throwing and spear throwing.
Jökull Tandri Ámundason, earl of the Viking association Rimmugýgjar, says there is great anticipation and excitement around the tournament. It is ideal to sit on the slope below Víðistaðar Church and watch the wrestling tournament on June 20.
Here you can see Jökull Tandri Ámundason, Jarl, with the size of a drinking horn, next to him stands a rather modern viking.
