MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – The international security industry exhibition National Security. Belarus 2026 is a contribution to strengthening peace, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich said at the opening of the exhibition on 17 June, BelTA has learned.
“Effective counteraction to all these threats lies primarily in the consistent improvement of the security system, constructive dialogue at the international, regional, and interagency levels, as well as interaction and cooperation,” said Aleksandr Volfovich.
Therefore, holding forums such as this one in the country today is another contribution to the cause of strengthening peace and security – a cause that Belarus has championed, continues to champion, and will continue to champion, he said.
The state secretary of the Security Council noted that the current forum is driven not so much by revolutionary scientific and technological progress as by the emergence of new, constantly evolving risks, challenges, and threats in the field of security that affect the sustainable development of states.
“Today we are witnessing the international situation heating up to the extreme. The architecture of global and regional security, built over decades, has essentially collapsed,” he said.
Speaking about contemporary challenges and threats, Aleksandr Volfovich pointed to hybrid warfare, cyber threats, terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, illicit arms trafficking, human trafficking, military conflicts, and the use of artificial intelligence for criminal purposes.
The international security industry exhibition National Security. Belarus 2026 is taking place at the Minsk International Exhibition Center BelExpo. Over the course of three days, the latest achievements in various areas of security will be showcased across multiple exhibition venues. Workshops, seminars, and conferences have been organized, where high-level experts will share the latest developments in their respective fields of security.
