Al-Shahid Al-Hafiz, June 22, 2026 (SPS) – The Minister of Education, Education and Vocational Training, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Abdelkader Talib Omar, confirmed today, Monday, at the headquarters of the National Council, that developing the education sector is a shared responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of all actors, as it is a vital sector linked to human building and the future of Sahrawi society.
This came during a lecture given by the Minister within the work of the spring session of the National Council, at the beginning of which he praised the intervention presented by the member of the National Secretariat, President of the National Council, Mr. Al-Bashir Mustafa Al-Sayyid, and the attention that the National Council pays to the education sector and its role in socialization.
During his presentation, the Minister addressed a number of topics related to the philosophy of education and the development of educational thought, reviewing various theories that dealt with knowledge and education throughout the stages of history, and the role of the school in developing human capabilities, developing the mind, and building educational curricula.
Mr. Abdul Qadir Al-Talib Omar also touched on the basic goals of the educational process, explaining that education is not limited to transferring knowledge, but rather aims to form a person and develop his intellectual and cognitive skills and abilities, enabling him to contribute to the development of his society and the building of state institutions.
The Minister provided a comprehensive overview of the course of the Sahrawi educational system, reviewing the accumulated experience accumulated by the sector, and the efforts made to develop education despite the circumstances and challenges imposed by the specificity of the Sahrawi reality.
He also gave a presentation on the results achieved in the field of education and vocational training, highlighting what has been accomplished in the field of expanding educational services, improving educational performance, and qualifying human resources.
This lecture falls within the series of formative and intellectual lectures programmed during the spring session of the National Council, aiming to enhance discussion about vital sectors and exchange experiences and knowledge in a way that serves the development of national institutions and society.
