A new cocktail collaboration highlighting Chinese and French influences has been launched at MO Bar in Beijing’s Wangfujing area, bringing together local mixology and the heritage of French crystal maker Baccarat.
The limited-edition program, titled Crystal Radiance, features four cocktails created by MO Bar’s head bartender Chris Liu and served in Baccarat crystal glassware. The initiative reflects a growing trend among hospitality brands to combine food and beverage experiences with elements of design, craftsmanship and cultural storytelling.
The cocktail collection draws inspiration from both Eastern and Western ingredients. Floral and fruit flavors commonly associated with Chinese and Asian culinary traditions, including jasmine, rose and lychee, are paired with spirits and ingredients widely used in European cocktail culture, such as champagne, bergamot and whisky.
The collaboration is intended to explore connections between Chinese and French aesthetics through beverage design and presentation.
The four drinks each feature a different combination of ingredients and are served in a distinct Baccarat glass. Jasmin & Lis combines plum, jasmine-infused gin and champagne, while L’Imperial blends lychee, peach and white rum. Rubis d’Orient incorporates Campari, mango, bergamot and champagne, and Bergamote pairs whisky with tea-infused rose and bergamot.
The launch also reflects MO Bar’s broader approach to incorporating cultural themes into its beverage offerings. Previous cocktail menus have drawn inspiration from regional Chinese cuisines and elements of the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
Located within the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing, the bar overlooks the Forbidden City and has positioned itself as a venue that combines contemporary cocktail culture with references to local history and culture.
Industry observers note that collaborations between luxury hospitality brands and heritage houses have become increasingly common in recent years, as hotels seek to create distinctive guest experiences through partnerships that extend beyond traditional food and beverage offerings.
The Crystal Radiance collection is available for a limited period at MO Bar.
